AS SUMMER ENDS. STRANGERS WILL LAND

The Landings is a performance journey accessed by walking the hinterland of fields, drainage channels, sunken lanes, railway lines, small copses and shore between Blue Anchor and Minehead towards dusk. Here you will find a cast of 20 performers aged 5 to 70.

The Landings exists because of the death of Alan Kurdi, a 3-year-old Syrian boy who drowned trying to reach Europe in September 2015. Find out more

As The Landings involves two entry points and multiple pathways, you can decide how to navigate through the land depending on which performance encounters you stay with, and which you leave behind.  As a result, your performance journey might differ from other audience members.

Whether in quiet copses, on little-used farm tracks or at isolated railways crossings, you will walk with, join and leave performers all tied to a need to keep going, despite the unknown ahead.

Thanks to the generosity of partners, landowners and tenants, such as the Steam Coast Trail, West Somerset Railway, Dunster Beach Chalets and local farmers, The Landings opens up a familiar landscape in new ways.
