Jane Allsopp

When I had to choose at school whether to follow sciences or the arts, I chose the sciences, and after a degree and a PhD, I became a science teacher, and in the last decade before I retired, a headteacher in East London.

However, I never felt I was leaving the arts behind; on the contrary, I have been privileged to have been able to support and participate in the arts throughout my life. Writing has been the dominant form always. I have self-published a novel, and am currently focussing on writing poetry.

Of particular relevance to Stacked Wonky, I bring to the board my passion that children and young people benefit from participating in the highest quality of arts provision in the community; extensive experience of governance from a range of boards and governing bodies, and experience of financial, project and human resource management.
